Installing Bathroom Faucets

While bathroom sink faucets can come in a variety of styles and materials, they all have to be installed. If you're the do it yourself type, we have a step by step guide to help you with your project.

What you need: basin wrench, screwdriver, plumber's putty, couplings, pipe joint compound, tape.

One Piece Faucet Installation:

  1. Apply putty around the base of the faucet in a ring (read the instructions to be sure yours requires this sealant, if not, use the method recommended)
  2. Put the faucet tailpieces through the sink holes where the faucet should go
  3. The washer and locknuts need to be threaded up the bottom pieces, then tightened
  4. put teflon tape around the threads, the cut supply tubes to fit
  5. Attach supply tube couplings and tighten them down
  6. Connect the drain then attach the faucet handles and trim caps

You can choose to install anti scald valves if you have small children in the home to protect against unexpected water temperature changes (such as from flushing or washing clothes). Any faucet with this device will look like a regular faucet.
